The fresh pastas offered at Dough on Main are made right in our shop. And if you've only ever had boxed pastas, you are truly missing out! Our staff is always ready to help you choose a pasta, sauce, side dish, salad and/or bread to make your meal delicious!
Our machine is a laminating machine, which means that we make flat pasta. Narrowest to widest, we offer spaghetti, linguine and fettuccine cuts. Rule of thumb? Thin pasta, thin sauce; wider pasta for thick or chunky sauce. A pound of pasta will feed four light eaters or three average eaters. Pick up one of our housemade sauces and you can quickly make a meal. Marinara, Zesty Marinara and Meat are the all-the-timers, but others we often have include Raphael (vegetarian), Clam, Alfredo and Pestos.
Our pasta flavors include Egg (plain), Spinach, Herb, Tomato-Basil, Black Peppercorn, Garlic-Rosemary and Red Hot Pepper. We often have specialty flavors as well, such as Whole Wheat, Mushroom, Beet, Pumpkin, and Lemon Dill. Check the pasta board in our shop, just ask or call 860-322-4590!
Making lasagna? Give us 24 hours and how many sheets you need, and any of our fresh pastas can be prepared for you. That includes cutting pappardelle as well.
PASTA, CAVATELLI & RAVIOLI COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
From our pastas, we also create ravioli. Cut square – roughly 2" x 2" – they are sold in packages of 30 pieces. A package this size will easily feed four people as a main course. Hosting a party or dining with a greater number? Smaller portions are the perfect appetizer or side dish for any meal.
Like our cut-to-order pastas, there is so much variety to choose from: Cheese, Meat, Sausage, Spinach-Walnut-Gorgonzola are our standard flavors. Our specialty choices vary, but include flavors like Beet-Goat Cheese, Buffalo Chicken (get the Gorgonzola Alfredo to go with it), Crab, and Lobster. We love to experiment at Dough on Main, so always look for new combinations.
Cavatelli is another one of Dough's fresh offerings. This rich pasta is similar to gnocchi. It is made with ricotta cheese and cut in short rolled lengths. Sometime we play and make a specialty cavatelli flavor too!.
We sell our cavatelli in one-pound bags, and like our cut-to-order pastas, that amount of cavatelli will feed four light eaters or three average eaters.
